"The company that came with the $27,000 bid was from Toms River," Groh said. Even though two of the quotes came in under the $40,000, she did not think that the companies that submitted those quotes actually came out to see the condition of the field. Groh explained that the township has a $40,000 price threshold before going out for formal bids is required. ![]() She said the next project is to re-sod the field the township went out for quotes to see how much it will cost to sod 20,000 square feet of the field, and received a wide range of costs. In her report, Groh noted that the new irrigation system was installed and is fully functional. The field has had many maintenance problems in the past and a referendum question will be posed in November asking residents if they support spending the dollars to replace its surface with artificial turf.
